Inidividual boot or system server jars may have higher min_sdk_version
than the contianing apex, since the runtime respects the values of
min/max_sdk_version; e.g. runtime would not load a boot jar with
higher min_sdk_version. This allows shipping new boot jars via apexes
that target older platforms.

Consolidate the code to resolve a deapexer module dependency.
Propagate the dex jar path as an OptionalPath which is either valid or invalid with a message.
Historically, this file was used by the `--updatable-bcp-packages-file`
flag for dex2oat. The flag is no longer needed and is being deprecated.
Unfortunately, we cannot remove `permitted_packages` and all the code
related to it because we still need it for checking the module

This will allow propagating any error from the deapexer module for
prebuilt APEXes to the location where the dex jars get used. It's only
at those points that we can raise errors about not being able to
extract files from the deapexer modules if they are invalid, and this
way we avoid encoding knowledge there about why they may be invalid.
To keep the refactoring limited it intentionally does not change any of
the existing logic for when dexJarFiles are set or not (non-nil vs nil
prior to this change), although there may be opportunity to use this
for more conditions when dex jars aren't available.
The refactoring is also not extended to

This is useful in various scenarios, e.g.: when javadoc in some source

Previously, if a bootclasspath_fragment had both a java_sdk_library
module and one of its components in stub_libs properties they would be
treated as separate modules instead of simply different APIs from the
same module. That would result in them both providing stub dex jars to
"hiddenapi list" which would fail because it found duplicate
definitions of the same class.
e.g. Specifying something like this:
api: {
stub_libs: [
"art.module.public.api",
],
},
core_platform_api: {
stub_libs: [
"art.module.public.api.stubs.module_lib",
],
},
would cause "hiddenapi list" to fail because it would have been passed
paths to two dex jars (actually the same dex jar but that does not
matter) each of which defined the same class, e.g. java.lang.Object.
This change treats the "art.module.public.api.stubs.module_lib" and
"art.module.public.api" modules as being the same for the purposes of
hidden API processing.

Previously, a java_sdk_library with shared_library = true would create
a variation per APEX because it depends on an sdkLibraryXml module
which generates a file containing the APEX name. However, a shared

inconsistent variations caused failures in sdkDepsReplaceMutator.

Previously, an sdk snapshot could contain the following:
* A java_sdk_library_import module, e.g. "foo" which creates component
modules "foo.stubs", etc.
* A corresponding versioned module, e.g. "sdk_foo@current" which
created component modules "sdk_foo@current.stubs", etc.
* An internal (to the sdk snapshot) java_import for one of "foo"'s
components, e.g. "sdk_foo.stubs"
* A corresponding versioned module, e.g. "sdk_foo.stubs@current".
That causes a few problems:
1. The "foo.stubs" is duplicated.
2. The names of the components created by the versioned
java_sdk_library_import are invalid, as they append the component's
suffix to the version and not the name before the version.
The latter causes problems when building against prebuilts and fixing
that causes the generated snapshot to be invalid because it contains
duplicate definitions of the "sdk_foo.stubs@current" module. One
explicitly in the Android.bp file and one created by the
"sdk_foo@current" module.
Removing the duplicates from the snapshot causes errors as the name
generated by the snapshot for the component module, i.e.
"sdk_foo.stubs@current" does not match the name generated by the
"sdk_foo@current", i.e. "sdk_foo@current.stubs".
This change fixes them together.

Previously, the hidden API flags generated for a bootclasspath_fragment
did not include removed API members. That was because it did not supply
a file containing the dex signatures of the removed API members.
The monolithic hidden API processing uses combined-removed-dex which is
the output of a genrule that takes as input the *removed.txt files from
all the APIs and uses metalava to construct the dex signatures file.
This change does the equivalent for the *removed.txt files for the APIs

.. in preparation for the upcoming change. This change doesn't alter any
behavior.
InApexes is a misleading name. People expects that it has the list of
soong module names of the APEXes that a module is part of. So, for
example, `core-oj` is a part of both `com.android.art` and
`com.google.android.art`. However, in reality, that's not true. The
field has `com.android.art` only. This is because the two APEXes
(android and Google) have the same apex name which is `com.android.art`.
That apex name is used in various places like the `apex_available` and
allows us to keep using the same name regardless of whether the APEX is
overridden or not.
However, this is causing problems in some cases where the exact list of
soong module names is required. The upcoming change will add a new field
to handle the case and the new field actually will get the name
'InApexes'. So, the existing field is renamed to a less misleading name
`InApexVariants`.

The configurationName was intended to separate the name of the module
from the name used in configuration (such as BootJars) so that the
child implementation library of a java_sdk_library on the bootclasspath
would have hidden API encoding performed on it just as for the main
java_library embedded within the java_sdk_library.
While that did use to work it no longer does as the test added in the
preceding change proves. It is not surprising that this regression does
not appear to have caused any issues as the the child implementation
library is only a build time artifact and not used at runtime.
In future the only modules that will require hidden API encoding are
those that are part of a bootclasspath module so there is no point in
maintaining this capability.

The hidden API processing needs access to dex jars for the API stubs in
order to determine which dex members are part of an API surface. The
dex stubs used for the monolithic file are provided by normal
java_library modules for legacy reasons. However, the APEXes that
contribute to the bootclasspath, and so need to perform hidden API
processing, typically provide stubs created by a java_sdk_library.
This change adds support to java_sdk_library/_import to make the dex
stub jars available when requested, that involves:
1. Adding compile_dex property to java_sdk_library_import and
propagating it down the the java_import modules for the stubs. That
is already handled for java_sdk_library.
2. Propagating the java_sdk_library compile_dex property to the
java_sdk_library_import in the generated snapshot.
3. Refactoring and wiring to make the dex stubs jar available to other

Previously, SdkSpec was constructed only from the user string. It didn't
make use of the Config struct where information about the latest stable
SDK version, etc. is recorded. As a result, the build system couldn't
check if the sdk version "current" is referring to the in-development
(i.e. not-yet-frozen) SDK version or the latest stable version.
"current" was always assumed to be in-development (IsPreview() returns
true) even when Platform_sdk_final == true.
As the first step for fixing that, this change requires
android.EarlyModuleContext to be passed when constructing SdkSpec from
the user string.
In the following changes, "current" will be mapped to either
FutureApiLevel (10000) or one of the FinalApiLevels() depending on
whether the platform SDK was finalized or not.

Invokes hiddenAPIExtractInformation() on the java_sdk_library_import's

The dex file provided by deapexer has already had the hiddenapi

Usually, it would require a classes implementation jar as well in
order to extract information from UnsupportedAppUsage annotations but
that is not available for a java_sdk_library_import. Fortunately, the
modules that are currently affected by this do not contain any such
annotations. This just uses a public api stubs jar instead.

This method logically belongs with other UsesLibraryDependency methods,
as it is used in the same context when computing class loader context.
Previously it was part of Dependency interface, which doesn't cover SDK
libraries. We do not currently have the necessary information for

This patch reworks the approach introduced in
https://r.android.com/1450819. That patch based the decision which
libraries should be added to the manifest <uses-library> tags by the
manifest_fixer on the "shared" status of the library.
That approach is incorrect for two reasons:
- It doesn't make sense to have a non-shared library in class loader
context ("shared" libraries are those specified in
frameworks/base/data/etc/platform.xml, and they are the only ones
that PackageManager knows about).
- It doesn't make sense to add anything but the top-level of the
class loader context tree to the manifest, because this part of the
tree is flattened to a sequence, and PackageManager cannot restore
it to the previous tree shape (there is an information loss).
This patch removes the "shared" bit of information from class loader
context elements and assumes that all libraries that end up in class
loader context are shared. Consequently, only the top-level libraries
should be passed to manifest_fixer.

Unless no_dist: true is specified the java_sdk_library will
automatically copy the stubs jar and the API specification file (but
not the removed API specification file) for each scope to the apistubs/
directory in the dist from which the sub-directories in prebuilts/sdk
are populated. Previously, the name of those artifacts was based on the
name of the module. This change adds the dist_stem property to allow
the name of those artifacts to be specified separately to the module.
The purpose of this is to allow the art.module.public.api,
conscrypt.module.public.api and i18n.module.public.api java_sdk_library
modules to use a different name when copying to the dist,
e.g. conscrypt.module.public.api should use conscrypt.
Additionally, as the artifacts in the dist end up being copied verbatim
to prebuilts/sdk and the prebuilt_apis module uses those names to
create a filegroup referencing the latest released version of the API
and removed API specification files the dist_stem property is also
used in constructing the name of those filegroups.

Previously, setting "sdk_version: none" would have a side effect of
disabling copying to dist by default. This change removes that behavior
and will copy to dist by default unless explicitly specified.
This will have no impact on the dist because all java_sdk_library
modules that relied on the previous behavior to disable copying to
dist have been modified to explicitly disable copying to dist.

Currently, the no_dist property cannot be set in a .bp file and
defaults to true if the sdk_version property is set to none. That
behavior was added to prevent the output files from the libcore,
conscrypt and icu java_sdk_library modules from being copied to the
dist. It worked because they were the only java_sdk_library modules to
set "sdk_version: none".
Unfortunately, that default behavior is no longer required because
we want to be able to convert "conscrypt" module to a java_sdk_library
and have its public API output files be copied to the dist
automatically. This change allows the no_dist property to be explicitly
set in the .bp file so that those modules that rely on the implicit
behavior can explicitly specify it and allow the default behavior to
be removed.
This change:
* Removes the `blueprint:"mutated"` tag from the No_dist property which
allows it to be specified in a .bp file.
* Only sets the default if the property has not been explicitly
specified in a .bp file.

Some java_sdk_library modules do not have any stubs for some API
scopes. That results in an empty ".srcjar" being created for them which
ends up not creating a directory for the stubs sources when that
snapshot is unzipped. Previously, that would cause a build failure as
the generated java_sdk_library_import module used the directory, which
did not exist, in its stub_srcs property.
This change switches the stubs_srcs property to use a glob pattern of
"**/*.java" relative to the directory instead of using the directory
directly. When the directory does not exist the glob pattern is
resolved to an empty set of paths and does not break the build.

Similar to Stubs_only_libs, this allows being a bit more specific
about what libs compile against what. In my usecase, it allows
removing a platform dependency from the appsearch stubs, which allows
the platform to depends on the stubs.

Fail the build if dexpreopt cannot find path to a <uses-library>.
Add dependency on implementation <uses-library> for modules that depend on component libraries.
A global variant was used to store the global mapping between
modules and APEXes. Replace it with storing pointers to APEX
contents inside each module so that they can query the contents
of any APEXes they belong to.

If a dexpreopted Java module depends on a component library (such as
stubs), it must be dexpreopted against the implementation library,
because that is what it will use at run time. Therefore dexpreopt needs
to know about the implementation library.
One of the subtests of TestUsesLibraries is removed. This is because the
subtest was previosuly split in two variants with the only difference
that the first variant had dependency on a stubs library, and the second
one had dependency on the implementation. The latter caused dexpreopt to
be disabled because Soong couldn't find the implementation (it had only
the name, but no access to the module). Now that there is a dependency
on the implementation, the problem goes away and the two subtest
variants can be merged into one.
Add a method for getting the name of the implementation library for the
optional SDK library. Currently it is the same as the SDK library name,
but it may change in future.

about the doctags that are present in the source. This change allows
that information to be managed with the java_sdk_library that generates
