When generating framework.aidl, `android_*_stubs_current` are converted
to .aidl files (and created as targets) by replacing the extension from
`.jar` to `.aidl`.
Thus, when replacing `android_*_stubs_current` to java_api_library

Prevent this error by renaming the name of the artifact jar file as the

Context
- Some Java API surfaces have subset relationships (i.e. public API
surface is a subset of system API surface). Thus, simply listing
all API files that contributes to hierarchical API surfaces when
defining java_api_library modules can lead to repetition of code in
Android.bp files.
- Utilizing java_defaults can resolve this problem by
grouping java_api_contribution modules by API surfaces, and reduce
code repetition and enhance readability.
Implementation

`min_sdk_version` is used to represent the api_level of the device and
its type will eventually become android.ApiLevel. OTOH,
`sdk_version` property represents the API surface a module builds against
_and_ the version of that API surface. For
R8/D8, the additional `--android-platform-build` should be determined
using the sdk_version of the soong module and not min_sdk_version, since
min_sdk_version will not contain information about the api surface used
for compilation.
The unit test for `core_platform_app` in TestR8 were passing since
min_sdk_version was not set, and therefore it implicitly defaulted to
sdk_version.

Context
- Droidstubs module is currently responsible not only for java api stubs
generation, but also for checking api equality and compatibility.
- Generating stubs with incomplete api text file that does not list
entire api surface is done through metalava implicitly adding unlisted
methods from java source files to the stubs in droidstubs module.
- These factors make java stubs generation harder to debug, thus
introduce `java_api_contribution` and `java_api_library` modules to make java
api stubs and jar generation more explicit in Android.bp level and
eventually easier to debug.
Implementation
- `java_api_contribution` module is included in api domains' directory and
lists api text file directory to be added to the api surface
- `java_api_library` collects all api text file that forms the api surface
and creates stubs invoking metalava. Generated java stub files are
converted into `.srcjar`, and eventually `.jar` file which is the complete
api surface.

The sdk snapshot must not be including implementation code for boot
libraries, the implementation is provided by dex jars within the
corresponding APEX. However, the snapshot does need a module for each
boot library so that the build can seamlessly access the dex files from
the APEX.
A java_library boot library (like core-oj) is represented in the
snapshot by a java_import module which requires a jar file to be
provided, otherwise it is disabled. However, that is provided purely
to keep Soong happy and should never be used.
Previously, the snapshot would contain an empty file for the jar. As
an empty file is an invalid jar any tool (like compiler) that tried
to consume it would fail which was the correct behavior. Unfortunately,
the error message that was produced was not very helpful, it was just
some variant on `invalid file` which lead to a lot of bugs being
raised.
This change replaces that empty file with a reference to the output
from a genrule which runs a script which produces a more useful error
message, with information on how to fix the issue, and fails the build.
It also adds a Name() method to the SdkMemberProperties type as that is
needed in AddInternalModule() to construct the name of the additional
module.
Tested as follows:
In AOSP/master make the following changes:
1. Temporarily set visibility on core-oj and core-libart to
//visibility:public.
2. Run packages/modules/common/build/mainline_modules_sdks.py to create
the snapshots.
For each of the S, T and latest snapshots I did the following in the
s-aml-prebuilt-test, t-aml-prebuilt-test and aosp/master branches:
1. Created an Android.bp file containing the following:
java_library {
name: "broken",
static_libs: [
"prebuilt_core-libart",
"prebuilt_core-oj",
],
}
2. Fix the visibility issues and run `m broken` where it fails with an
invalid file.
3. Delete the contents of the prebuilts/module_sdk/art/current/sdk
directory.
4. Unpack the relevant version of the art-module-sdk snapshot into the
directory.
5. Run `m broken` where it fails with the helpful message.
6. Test the instructions on how to use the ninja -t path tool to
identify the cause of the problem and fix it.

While enabling prebuilts in T we hit b/229932396 which was caused by
some parts of the build depending on the prebuilt updatable-media jar
which used to be a full implementation jar but which is now an invalid
jar as the snapshot must not be including implementation details. We
fixed the issue in T but we are hitting the same problem in S with the
M-2022-07.
That is the first train in which the prebuilt updatable-media module
provides an invalid jar, prior to that it was always providing an
implementation jar. This change tweaks the sdk snapshot generation
code to use an implementation jar for updatable-media in the S
snapshot to avoid partners having to cherry pick changes similar to

This reverts commit 0b1c70efbc.
The reverted commit was based on the idea that uses-libraries that are
explicitly specified in build files should not be implicitly added to
the manifest, as that would mean that anything added to the build files
will flow to the manifest.
Although this logic is correct, it prevents propagation of
uses-libraries from dependencies, which is wrong: if a library has an
explicit uses-library property in Android.bp, this property is expected
to be propagated to the library's dependencies. Failing to do so would
mean that every user of that library has to add uses-library property to
their build files, which doesn't scale (see b/214255490 for example).

In Soong, java_library can specify static_deps which are dependencies
that get aggregated into the final jar (akin to static linking). This is
useful because it allows dependencies higher up in the chain to compile
against the APIs exported by transitive dependencies. Bazel does not
support this functionality directly, but it can be emulated via the
exports attribute which makes any targets listed in the attribute public
to targets further up the chain.

The Android SDK has been built with Make up until now, monolithically,
then split up into several sdk-repo zip files for different purposes.
The Mac and Windows SDKs really only need to contain the platform-tools

invalid with a message.
This will allow propagating any error from the deapexer module for
prebuilt APEXes to the location where the dex jars get used. It's only
at those points that we can raise errors about not being able to
extract files from the deapexer modules if they are invalid, and this
way we avoid encoding knowledge there about why they may be invalid.
To keep the refactoring limited it intentionally does not change any of
the existing logic for when dexJarFiles are set or not (non-nil vs nil
prior to this change), although there may be opportunity to use this
for more conditions when dex jars aren't available.
The refactoring is also not extended to

in `java_library` modules to the apps that transitively depend on these
libraries.
Note that a library may choose to specify its <uses-library> deps as

it should be able to override it by specifying its own `uses_libs`/

Previously manifest_fixer used a naive way to distiniguish optional libs
from required ones: it checked if a library is on the list of optional
compatibility libraries. This works for compatibility libs, but not for
other libs.
Now we properly track optionality through all stages of the build,
starting with the addition of the library as a dependency (here's where
the `uses_libs`/`optional_uses_libs` distinction kicks in), store it in
dependency tag and propagate to class loader context, and from there to
the manifest_fixer.

The configurationName was intended to separate the name of the module
from the name used in configuration (such as BootJars) so that the
child implementation library of a java_sdk_library on the bootclasspath
would have hidden API encoding performed on it just as for the main
java_library embedded within the java_sdk_library.
While that did use to work it no longer does as the test added in the
preceding change proves. It is not surprising that this regression does
not appear to have caused any issues as the the child implementation
library is only a build time artifact and not used at runtime.
In future the only modules that will require hidden API encoding are
those that are part of a bootclasspath module so there is no point in
maintaining this capability.

Previously, SdkSpec was constructed only from the user string. It didn't
make use of the Config struct where information about the latest stable
SDK version, etc. is recorded. As a result, the build system couldn't
check if the sdk version "current" is referring to the in-development
(i.e. not-yet-frozen) SDK version or the latest stable version.
"current" was always assumed to be in-development (IsPreview() returns
true) even when Platform_sdk_final == true.
As the first step for fixing that, this change requires
android.EarlyModuleContext to be passed when constructing SdkSpec from
the user string.
In the following changes, "current" will be mapped to either
FutureApiLevel (10000) or one of the FinalApiLevels() depending on
whether the platform SDK was finalized or not.

SdkSpec.Version was an int type. Now it becomes ApiLevel type which
is a better abstraction of the version (or api level).

The sdk_version: "core_platform" refers to the stable core platform
unless the module is in the exception list. This change makes sure that
CheckStableSdkVersion() reflects that behavior.

Sysprop libraries use a global list to rewrite dependencies from
implementation libraries to public stub libraries when appropriate.
Remove the global list, and instead add a dependency from the
implementation to the public stub that forwards the JavaInfo.

Adds the hiddenapi_additional_annotations to allow a library to list
the libraries that provided additional hiddenapi related annotations
for a library.
Modifies merge_csv.py so it can process multiple zip files at the same
time and uses that to merge the embedded .uau files from a module and
those it depends upon.

Verified that hiddenapi files (both aggregated ones and for the
individual modules) are not affected by this change.
Also verified that the hiddenapi files created when using the
prebuilts (using SOONG_CONFIG_art_module_source_build=false) are
the same as when using the source. There is a slight difference
in the order but otherwise identical.
