911b9b1d6e init: rename ServiceManager to ServiceList and clean it up
ServiceManager is essentially just a list now that the rest of its
functionality has been moved elsewhere, so the class is renamed
appropriately.

The ServiceList::Find* functions have been cleaned up into a single
smaller interface.
The ServiceList::ForEach functions have been removed in favor of
ServiceList itself being directly iterable.

d269e3a795 init: fix process restarting
The time data types associated with restarting processes halfway moved
to std::chrono and halfway didn't. In this intermediate state, the
times would get converted from nanoseconds to seconds then to
milliseconds. The precision lost when converting to seconds would
cause the main loop of init to spin whenever a process was within a
second of being restarted.

This patch cleans up this logic and uses nanoseconds and milliseconds
explicitly, with a ceiling to milliseconds to prevent unneeded
spinning.

Test: boot bullhead, kill processes, see that they restart sanely.

5938379e91 init: shutdown services in the opposite order that they started
Currently, the order that we kill to services during shutdown is the
order of services_ in ServiceManager and that is defacto the order in
which they were parsed, which is not a very useful ordering.

Related to this, we have seen a few issues during shutdown that may be
related to services with dependencies on other services, where the
dependency is killed first and the dependent service then misbehaves.

This change allows services to keep track of the order in which they
were started and shutdown then uses that information to kill running
services in the opposite order that they were started.

cccb34fce8 add "shutdown critical" to service
- "shutdown critical" prevents killing the service during
shutdown. And the service will be started if not running.
- Without it, services will be killed by SIGTERM / SIGKILL during shutdown.
- Even services with "shutdown critical" will be killed if shutdown
  times out.
- Removes ueventd and vold from hard coded list. Each service's rc will
be updated to add "shutdown critical". watchdogd is still kept in the list.

eeab491efd init: Support custom shutdown actions
We have been seeing panics and errors during shutdown sequence in
some vendor's platform, and it is required to disable error handling
during shutdown.

This CL separates the shutdown request to execute another "shutdown"
trigger at the beginning of shutdown stage. And vendor can use this
trigger to add custom commands needed for shutting down gracefully.

33838b1156 init: change kill order and fix error reporting in KillProcessGroup()
First kill the process group before killing the cgroup to catch
the hopeful case that killing the cgroup becomes a no-op as all of its
processes have already been killed.

Do not report an error if kill fails due to ESRCH, as this happens
often when reaping processes due to the order in which we call
waitpid() and kill().

Do not call killProcessGroup in libprocessgroup if we have already
successfully killed and removed a process group.

30a6f276fd init: clean up the SectionParser interface and Parser class
Remove the dependency on Action and Service from what should be a
generic Parser class.

Make ActionParser, ImportParser, and ServiceParser take a pointer to
their associated classes instead of accessing them through a
singleton.

Misc fixes to SectionParser Interface:
1) Make SectionParser::ParseLineSection() non-const as it always should
have been.
2) Use Rvalue references where appropriate
3) Remove extra std::string& filename in SectionParser::EndFile()
4) Only have SectionParser::ParseSection() as pure virtual

Document SectionParser.

Make ImportParser report the filename and line number of failed imports.

Make ServiceParser report the filename and line number of duplicated services.

Test: Boot bullhead

012c573e26 init: Stop combining actions
In the past, I had thought it didn't make sense to have multiple
Action classes with identical triggers within ActionManager::actions_,
and opted to instead combine these into a single action. In theory,
it should reduce memory overhead as only one copy of the triggers
needs to be stored.

In practice, this ends up not being a good idea.

Most importantly, given a file with the below three sections in this
same order:

on boot
  setprop a b

on boot && property:true=true
  setprop c d

on boot
  setprop e f

Assuming that property 'true' == 'true', when the `boot` event
happens, the order of the setprop commands will actually be:

setprop a b
setprop e f
setprop c d

instead of the more intuitive order of:

setprop a b
setprop c d
setprop e f

This is a mistake and this CL fixes it. It also documents this order.

Secondly, with a given 'Action' now spanning multiple files, in order
to keep track of which file a command is run from, the 'Command'
itself needs to store this. Ironically to the original intention,
this increases total ram usage. This change now only stores the file
name in each 'Action' instead of each 'Command'. All in all this is a
negligible trade off of ram usage.

Thirdly, this requires a bunch of extra code and assumptions that
don't help anything else. In particular it forces to keep property triggers
sorted for easy comparison, which I'm using an std::map for currently,
but that is not the best data structure to contain them.

Lastly, I added the filename and line number to the 'processing
action' LOG(INFO) message.

Test: Boot bullhead, observe above changes
Test: Boot sailfish, observe no change in boot time

b27004aa05 init: add exec_start command
Exec services may also want to set other service flags such as
priority. Instead of expanding the exec syntax to handle this, create
a new command, exec_start, that will treat an existing service
definition as an exec service. The new exec_start command will start
the service then halt init from executing further commands until the
service has exited.

This change additionally encapsulates the waiting_for_exec logic into
ServiceManager and removes the ambiguous 'bool' return value from
Reap() which previously indicated if a Reaped service was an exec
service or not.

8d01f63f50 remove emergency shutdown and improve init's reboot logic
- Emergency shutdown just marks the fs as clean while leaving fs
in the middle of any state. Do not use it anymore.

- Changed android_reboot to set sys.powerctl property so that
all shutdown can be done by init.

- Normal reboot sequence changed to
    1. Terminate processes (give time to clean up). And wait for
      completion based on ro.build.shutdown_timeout.
Default value (when not set) is changed to 3 secs. If it is 0, do not
        terminate processes.
    2. Kill all remaining services except critical services for shutdown.
    3. Shutdown vold using "vdc volume shutdown"
    4. umount all emulated partitions. If it fails, just detach.
Wait in step 5 can handle it.
    5. Try umounting R/W block devices for up to max timeout.
      If it fails, try DETACH.
If umount fails to complete before reboot, it can be detected when
      system reboots.
    6. Reboot

- Log shutdown time and umount stat to log so that it can be collected after reboot

- To umount emulated partitions, all pending writes inside kernel should
  be completed.
- To umount /data partition, all emulated partitions on top of /data should
be umounted and all pending writes should be completed.
- umount retry will only wait up to timeout. If there are too many pending
writes, reboot will discard them and e2fsck after reboot will fix any file system
  issues.

9605a945f7 init start time tracking.
With this change, init sets a property "init.start" to show the
CLOCK_BOOTTIME time at which init itself started, and for each service
an "init.svc.<name>.start" property to show the CLOCK_BOOTTIME time at
which that service was most recently started.

These times can be used by tools like bootstat to track boot time.

As part of this change, move init over to std::chrono. Also, rather than
make the command-line argument handling more complex, I've switched to
using an environment variable for communication between first- and
second-stage init, and added another environment variable to pass the
start time of the first stage through to the second stage.

24b29132a0 init: Add support for ambient capabilities.
Ambient capabilities are inherited in a straightforward way across
execve(2):

"
If you are nonroot but you have a capability, you can add it to pA.
If you do so, your children get that capability in pA, pP, and pE.
For example, you can set pA = CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE, and your
children can automatically bind low-numbered ports.
"

This will allow us to get rid of the special meaning for AID_NET_ADMIN
and AID_NET_RAW, and if desired, to reduce the use of file capabilities
(which grant capabilities to any process that can execute the file). An
additional benefit of the latter is that a single .rc file can specify
all properties for a service, without having to rely on a separate file
for file capabilities.

Ambient capabilities are supported starting with kernel 4.3 and have
been backported to all Android common kernels back to 3.10.

I chose to not use Minijail here (though I'm still using libcap) for
two reasons:

1-The Minijail code is designed to work in situations where the process
is holding any set of capabilities, so it's more complex. The situation
when forking from init allows for simpler code.

2-The way Minijail is structured right now, we would not be able to
make the required SELinux calls between UID/GID dropping and other priv
dropping code. In the future, it will make sense to add some sort of
"hook" to Minijail so that it can be used in situations where we want
to do other operations between some of the privilege-dropping
operations carried out by Minijail.

caafe5c620 Enable multiple consoles
This CL allows enabling of multiple consoles. The expected format
of "androidboot.console" kernel parameter is a list of available
consoles, as follows:

  androidboot.console=tty0:ttyS0

A service can be mapped to a specific console by providing the
optional argument, IE "tty0", to "console" service attribute as follows:

service fbconsole /system/bin/sh
    class core
    console tty0
    disabled
    user shell
    group shell log readproc
    seclabel u:r:shell:s0

b7e03e82b8 init: Allows shutting down cleanly.
When ro.build.shutdown_timeout is set, init will send a SIGTERM signal to
all services on reboot. The normal shutdown process will continue once
all services have exited or after the shutdown timeout
(ro.build.shutdown_timeout).

If ro.build.shutdown_timeout is not set, we assume a 0s timeout.

Bug: 26216447
Test: manual: Ask to reboot. All services exit cleanly.

b7349902a9 init: Use classes for parsing and clean up memory allocations
Create a Parser class that uses multiple SectionParser interfaces to
handle parsing the different sections of an init rc.

Create an ActionParser and ServiceParser that implement SectionParser
and parse the sections corresponding to Action and Service
classes.

Remove the legacy keyword structure and replace it with std::map's
that map keyword -> (minimum args, maximum args, function pointer) for
Commands and Service Options.

Create an ImportParser that implements SectionParser and handles the
import 'section'.

Clean up the unsafe memory handling of the Action class by using
std::unique_ptr.
